Overview

What is Ledger® Live?

Ledger® Live is the desktop and mobile application that allows you to manage your cryptocurrency portfolio using a Ledger hardware device. It provides a secure interface to check balances, send and receive funds, install apps on your device, and update firmware without exposing your private keys to the internet.

Login steps (quick guide)

1. Install Ledger® Live

Download the latest Ledger Live application from the official site and install it on your computer or mobile device. Always verify the domain and checksum on download to avoid phishing. After installation, open Ledger Live and allow updates if prompted.

2. Connect your Ledger device

Attach your Ledger device via USB (or connect via Bluetooth for supported models). Unlock your device with your PIN to allow the application to detect it. Ledger Live will ask you to open the Ledger Live app on the device if required.

3. Authenticate and open portfolio

Ledger Live authenticates via the device — there is no password stored in the app. Once connected and authenticated, Ledger Live syncs your accounts and displays balances. You are now ready to send, receive, and manage assets.

Important note

Never share your 24‑word recovery phrase. Ledger staff will never ask for this phrase. Treat it like the keys to a safe — store it offline in multiple secure locations.

• Power on the device and select "Set up as new device".
• Create a PIN and write down the 24‑word recovery phrase exactly as shown.
• Confirm words on the device when prompted.

Restore from recovery phrase

• If you already have a recovery phrase, choose "Restore device" and enter the words in order.

Install apps

Use Ledger Live's Manager to install cryptocurrency apps on your device. Each coin requires its own app on the device, while Ledger Live creates the corresponding account within the application UI.

Never reveal your recovery phrase

Recovery phrases are the single most sensitive piece of information. Write them on paper or use a metal backup, not a screenshot or online note. Do not enter your phrase into apps or websites.

Keep firmware and Ledger Live updated

Firmware updates fix security issues and add features. Install official updates only through Ledger Live and confirm update prompts on your device screen.

Device not detected
